Program: “Lock Down, stories about theLock Down, stories about the1859 Jail in Independence, MO” -- David W. Jackson
David is well-known to this community as an author and frequent speaker on local history. He was previously the Education Director for the Jackson County Historical Society. He is an author of over 40 books of which Lock Down is one of his most recent. David’s presentation will include some little-known stories about one of the incarcerated persons, and occurrences that took place in the jail, the oldest existing building on the Independence Square.
Visitors are always welcome.

The Village Heights Community of Christ Fellowship Hall is located just off 24 Highway and east of Highway 291 about five blocks. Turn north on Farview when you see the Hardee’s restaurant. The church is located at the fork of the street, and there is plenty of parking on the east side of the building. Masks are no longer required in Independence, but you are welcome to wear one if you wish.
