This year the Grant Symposium is scheduled for July 23-24, 2016, which commemorates the anniversary of his death on July 23, 1885. The symposium is hosted by the Missouri Civil War Museum adjacent to the historic parade ground at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis, MO.


On Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to Noon, Molly Kodner will discuss her book My Dear Molly: The Civil War Letters of Captain James Love along with selected documents that touch on Grant’s life and career.


From 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 Pete Grady will present a one-man show called “Unconditional Surrender: An Afternoon with President Grant.”


The Keynote Address will be given at 2:00 p.m. by Frank J. Williams about The Politics of 1864: Ulysses S. Grant, George B. McClellan, and Abraham Lincoln.
