Clarina Nichols: Frontier Crusader for Women’s Rights
Thu, APR 28, 2016, 06:30pm
Diane Eickhoff, Kansas City based writer, will talk about her young adult adaptation of an earlier book about Clarina Nichols, a transplanted New England journalist, who was instrumental in the events leading up to the right of women to vote in Kansas, the 8th state to adopt suffrage in 1912. She broke the taboo of speaking up at male-dominated gatherings, signing petitions, and flexing political muscle.
Location Central Library, 14 W. 10th Street, Kansas City, MO
