Willadene Johnson, a descendant of Cpl. Rufus Vann of the 1st Kansas Colored Volunteer Infantry Regiment, will tell of his role in the October, 1862 Battle of Island Mound in Bates County, MO. This is also “Museum After Hours” when the Missouri State Museum galleries will be open until 9:00 p.m.
