13th Annual Walk with Civil War Spirits – Lone Jack, MO
Fri, OCT 30, 2015, 07:00pm - 09:00pm

If you dare, listen to spirits at 13th annual Walk with Civil War Spirits

As the moon rises, so do the spirits of Lone Jack and the Border area. They have stories to tell. If you dare, come visit with the spirits on Friday, October 30, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The spirits will assemble on the Lone Jack Civil War Museum and Cemetery grounds, 301 S. Bynum, Lone Jack.

Follow your guide’s lantern back in time on this hallowed ground where men fought and died 153 years ago. Listen as the spirits of those who became embroiled in the conflict recount their stories. See the battle through the eyes of spirits of those who were there.  Listen as spirits tell their stories of enduring Ewing’s Order #11. Granny Brown might tell of living through those war-torn times. Perhaps Laura Flanery will join us to tell of her experiences walking to Texas following Order #11.

Oooh, was that the night wind or a spirit’s caress on your cheek? Was that light a guide’s lantern or a soldier’s ghostly figure gliding past the old tree? It’s enough to make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck.

No tricks, just treats await. Dress for the weather. The spirit walk and museum are free, but donations are always greatly appreciated. The all-volunteer Lone Jack Historical Society is the sole manager for day-to-day operations of the museum. Help us keep the doors open. For more information call the museum at 816-697-8833 or visit our website, www.historiclonejack.org.

Free but donations will be gratefully accepted.
