Jim Beckner: The Rest of the Story – Henry Younger’s Mulatto Children, Simpson and Catherine.


When the Border Wars began, Henry sent the children off to Ohio for their own safety where they graduated from Oberlin College. Catherine passed for white and married the son of a doctor. After college Simpson was a semi-pro baseball player in the Negro Leagues. After the daytime games, the players would put on a minstrel show.


Jim will also be displaying his books on the Negro Leagues.
