Oaths, arrests and outlaws - Lexington, MO at the end of the Civil War
Sat, SEP 19, 2015, 10:00am - 04:00pm

Join the Holmes Brigade re-enactment group as they recreate Lexington at the end of the Civil War. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Anderson House at the Battle of Lexington State Historic Site, 1101 Delaware St., Lexington, Mo.

Southern sympathizers were made to take an oath of allegiance to the Union and various “guerrillas” were coming into town to swear the oath, or rob a bank. Here some of these men tell their stories through the re-enactor’s voice.

Tour the Anderson House for free during this event. For more information, call the site at 660-259-4654. For more information on state parks and historic sites, visit mostateparks.com.
