Admission, including a buffet at the historic 1834 J. Huston Tavern, is $25.
Participants include Dr. Diane Mutti-Burke (research on slavery along the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers); Master Storyteller and Author Gladys Caines-Coggsell who will portray “Adeline,” a Missouri slave; Author and distinguished Freemason Alton G. Roundtree (Out of the Shadows: The Emergence of Prince Hall Freemasonry in America: Over 225 Years of Endurance); Teresa Habernal (traditional gospel music); Cultural historian and author Gary Fuenfhausen (existing slave dwellings at Prairie Park); and Dr. Maude Wahlman (research on secret signs and symbols used by African-Americans in their cemeteries).
There will also be guided and selfguided tours of Brown Lodge No. 22 and nearby Prairie Park Plantation.
