The February 11, 2014 meeting of the Cass County Civil War Roundtable will feature a program comparing the tactics of guerrilla warfare in northern Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley by Mosby’s Rangers with that of the guerrillas operating along the Missouri/Kansas Border.
Carol Bohl will present the program centered around her Great Great Grandfather Reuben Triplett, who along with his brother Benjamin, was a Mosby Ranger. Mosby worked as a scout for JEB Stuart, and then organized his own partisan rangers. He was known as "The Gray Ghost."
Bohl toured the area of the Ranger’s actions last June during a reunion of descendants of Mosby’s Rangers sponsored by the Mosby Heritage Area.
The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. in Pearson Hall in the Harrisonville Library, 400 E. Mechanic, Harrisonville, MO. It is free and open to the public. Refreshments follow the program. For more information call 816-797-0489.
