On July 19, 2014, the Civil War Round Table of Western Missouri and the William Clarke Quantrill Society sponsored a rededication of the 2nd Colorado Volunteer Cavalry Monument in Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence, MO. The monument was originally erected July 16, 1864. The event also commemorated the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Grinter Farm, fought on July 6, 1864.
