The December meeting of the Round Table was called with Christmas spirit. Twenty-nine members came out to enjoy fellowship that only this time of the year can bring. Besides sharing many of everyone’s favorite holiday treats we were treated to Jim Beckner in full Civil War Santa Claus regalia. Jim’s talk on what it was like at Christmas time in the Civil War was very informative and made each one of us reflect on what it means to be at home with our families during the holidays. Jim also made us remember what it is like for any soldier at any time to be away from the ones they love. Thanks to all that have made this last year with the Civil War Round Table of Western Missouri a year to remember. Using this year as a template the Board will be planning another year of learning and fellowship. I hope to see you all on January 8 for our next meeting. That night we will be sharing our family history, our interests and our artifacts in our annual Show and Tell Night. See you there!
