We will travel by car to arrive at the Pea Ridge Battlefield by 1:00 p.m.  A sandwich lunch will be provided at the Visitors Center.  We are trying to arrange a guided tour of the Battlefield.  From Independence the travel time is about 3 ½ hours.  Hotel rooms should be arranged by the individual travelers.  There are many hotels in Bentonville, just a half hour from the Battlefield, in reasonable price ranges.  On Thursday we will travel about half an hour to Prairie Grove and allow about two hours to tour the Visitors’ Center and Battlefield.  It would then be about a four hour drive back to Independence.  If you would like to go on the tour but don’t have transportation or a roommate, you can call Beverly at 816-225-7944 to see who might be available.  See more info in the article in the Border Star.  Members of other Round Tables and the Study Group are welcome to join us.  Just let Beverly know so we can prepare enough lunch at Pea Ridge (Beverly: 816-225-7944).
