The Westport Historical Society and the 1855 Harris-Kearney House are partnering with Stopping Stones to honor Harriet (Hattie) Drisdom Kearney, a woman who was enslaved as a child.  Stopping Stones is an arts initiative to bring recognition and respect to those enslaved in the United States.  A stone in Hattie’s honor will be installed on the front walkway.
