Enjoy a film and museum at the Visitor Center and then take a self-guided tour of the grounds and battlefield.  See the Anderson House, the “best arranged dwelling house west of St. Louis” which has been restored and furnished in mid-19th Century fashion, but it still bears the scars of the shot and shell which hammered it during the three-day battle when it was used as a hospital for both sides.
