We would love to have you join us on a little weekend trip to Wilson's Creek National Battlefield at Republic, MO near Springfield and Newtonia Battlefield.
When: Saturday and Sunday, October 7-8, 2017
Cost: $54.67 per person (double occupancy) includes a shared room with lunches on both Saturday and Sunday and a breakfast bar on Sunday. If you want a room to yourself, the rate is $99.04.
Meals (included unless otherwise indicated):
- Saturday lunch a box lunch with sub sandwiches, chips, tea or water.
- Saturday dinner (not included)
- Sunday breakfast is a breakfast bar at the Sleep Inn
- Sunday's lunch will be provided by the Friends of the Newtonia Battlefield

Other expenses will be on your own such as transportation. If you want to be a passenger in someone else's car, we would recommend a payment of $15 to the driver. Admission costs are being taken care of by our guide, Connie Langum, historian at Wilson's Creek. Dinner on Saturday evening will be on your own, and there are several moderately priced restaurants near the hotel.
We want to arrive at Wilson's Creek by noon on Saturday, October 7. We are estimating about three hours from Independence, MO so we would want to be on the road by 9 a.m. Depending on where you are starting from, you can adjust your time schedule. We estimate leaving the Newtonia Battlefield about 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 8 with an arrival in Independence at about 4 p.m.
